The New York Knicks snapped their six-game losing streak with a come from behind victory over the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night.

27. Final. 111. 89. 116

The New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks had two great games in their home-and-home series. After blowing a big lead heading into the fourth quarter on Wednesday, the Knicks returned the favor tonight against the Bucks.

The Knicks blew a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter at Madison Square Garden; tonight on the road they came back from a 13-point deficit and returned the favor. The Knicks finally locked in on defense the fourth quarter with an unlikely hero coming in off the bench.

With the Knicks floundering, Jeff Hornacek went deep into his bench to start the fourth. He inserted Ron Baker into the game instead of regular backup Brandon Jennings and Baker responded. Baker played every second of the fourth quarter, settling down the team on the offensive side and bringing some tough-nosed defense to the court.

Baker stayed ready and played an outstanding game. He helped set the tone and carry it through the whole fourth quarter. The Knicks lost Joakim Noah and Kristaps Porzingis to disqualification because of fouling out with just under three minutes to go but everyone else stepped up.

More from New York Knicks

Carmelo Anthony made a go-ahead three-pointer to give the Knicks the lead. Then Lance Thomas redeemed himself by stealing the ball from Giannis Antetokounmpo, leading to a breakout from Baker who assisted on Courtney Lee‘s dunk. Thomas had the game-winning shot made over him on Wednesday, so it was nice to see him get some retribution.

This was a huge come from behind win for the Knicks. It is the type of victory that can catapult a team forwards, and a much needed one to snap a lengthy losing streak.

Three Stars

SF Carmelo Anthony, Knicks — Anthony had a huge game and was a big part of the Knicks comeback. The Bucks constantly double-teamed Anthony all evening and he responded by making good reads. He handed out 10 assists in the game to go with 26 points on 8-of-20 from the field, 4-of-5 from deep and 6-of-9 from the foul line. He also added six rebounds and one steal while turning the ball over only twice. He finished with a game-high +22 plus/minus ratio.

PF Kristaps Porzingis, Knicks — Porzingis fouled out with just under three minutes remaining in the game but helped get the Knicks back into it. He scored an efficient 24 points, making 9-of-14 from the field, 3-of-4 from deep and 3-of-4 from the foul line. He also added six rebounds and three blocks, including two crucial ones of Antetokounmpo in the fourth quarter.

PG Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks — Antetokounmpo is a matchup nightmare and the Knicks have seen that first hand the last two games. He is nearly seven-feet tall, yet runs point guard for the Bucks. That makes him virtually unstoppable, as a power forward in Porzingis has to chase him around. Tonight he stuffed the stat sheet, scoring 25 points with six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and five blocks.
