The New York Knicks will be getting a boost on Friday night as forward Kristaps Porzingis will be returning to the lineup.

The New York Knicks have hit a rough patch, as they have lost six straight games. A lack of effort has been one of the main issues for the Knicks during their losing streak. The poor effort has resulted in the defense playing really poorly.

On Wednesday, the Knicks played much better against the Milwaukee Bucks, but they still lost. In the fourth quarter, the Knicks blew a 14-point lead after outplaying the Bucks in the third quarter to build it.

Luckily, the Knicks will be getting some reinforcements in on Friday night, as Kristaps Porzingis will be returning to the lineup. Porzingis has missed the last three games with an achillies injury, and he will be a welcome sight back in the lineup.

This season, Porzingis is averaging 20.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. In just his second season, Porzingis is emerging as a possible All-Star in the Eastern Conference.

With a lengthy losing streak, the Knicks are in desperate need for a win. Jeff Hornacek recently praised the Knicks for their effort in the loss to the Bucks. The head coach believes that if the Knicks play like they did on Wednesday, they will be in just fine shape moving forward.

Entering Friday, the Knicks are three games under .500. Due to the big offseason, the expectations for the Knicks is to be better than that. After a tough loss on Wednesday, it will be interesting to see how the Knicks respond against the same team.

Without a doubt, having Porzingis back in the lineup will help snap this losing streak. If the effort is there on Friday, the Knicks might finally be able to get in the win column.
