The New York Knicks were able to pick up a victory over the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks won the game 107-103 as the teams went back and forth throughout the night.

Neither team was able to pull away as the game was within single digits all night. They exchanged leads throughout the game, especially in the second half. One team would go on a mini-run and then the other team would quickly respond. The Knicks were able to get the last run, and as a result, there were able to come out on top with the victory.

More from New York Knicks

The Knicks were once again without starting center Joakim Noah, who has been sick since Sunday. In his place, the Knicks started Kyle O’Quinn, but he did not have as positive an impact tonight as he did Sunday afternoon. But, the Knicks were able to get contributions from other players to overcome his struggles.

The Knicks were able to overcome a huge free throw disparity, as the Trail Blazers had 26 attempts to only eight for the Knicks. New York was also able to overcome an off shooting night from Carmelo Anthony. This is the type of game that the Knicks would have lost in the past, but they have enough talent now to overcome an off night from Anthony.

There were a lot of takeaways from the game tonight for the Knicks as they picked up their second consecutive victory and fourth in their last five games. They are back to the .500 mark since October 29th. Check out our slideshow for takeaways from the Knicks victory over the Blazers.
