The New York Yankees might look to add a hitter or two in free agency this season. Who are six players they might target?

The MLB Hot Stove is heating up, and the New York Yankees have already been an active team. Recently, the Yankees traded catcher Brian McCann to the Houston Astros for two prospects. The decision to part ways with McCann was an obvious one for the Yankees, as they have Gary Sanchez who is emerging as a star.

Since last season, the Yankees have been parting way with veteran players in order to restock their farm system. While the Yankees have a lot of young talent coming on the horizon, they do have some holes to fill in their starting lineup.

The decision to trade McCann has opened up the designated hitter spot in the Yankees lineup. The designated hitter spot will likely be where the Yankees will spend some of their money this offseason, but they are also entertaining offers on Brett Gardner and Chase Headley.

If the Yankees are able to trade one or both of those players, they could end up being very active in free agency. There are a few good options for the Yankees in free agency to fill the designated hitter position this offseason. The Yankees haven’t spent hardly any money in recent years, but that appears like it will change.

Here are six hitters for the Yankees to target in free agency this offseason.
