The Brooklyn Nets had a successful night at Barclays Center defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves.

86. Final. 119. 147. 110

The Brooklyn Nets picked up a nice victory over the Minnesota Timberwovles Monday night. It was a tight game throughout as both teams were pretty evenly matched. It was the Nets that were able to eventually pull it out in the end.

With just under four minutes remaining the game was tied at 106. The Nets would finish the game on a 13-4 run to put away the young Timberwolves that are still trying to figure out how to win games.

It was a total team effort for the Nets. All five players that closed the game scored at least two points. Bojan Bogdanovic led the way with five, knocking down a dagger three-pointer with 37 seconds left and then the final two free throws of the game.

The big difference in the game tonight came in the starting units. All five Nets finished with plus/minus ratio of at least +11. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, all came in with negative plus/minus ratios. Andrew Wiggins had the smallest one at -4.

The Nets were able to win this game as they were more efficient on both ends of the court. They shot 55.3 percent on the evening and held the Timberwolves to only 42.4 percent from the field. That was an important number for the Nets, as the Timberwolves attempted 92 shots compared to only 76 for the Nets.

It got the Nets a victory, as they moved to 3-4 on the season and 3-2 at Barclays Center. The Timberwolves have now lost three games in a row, dropping to 1-5 on the season and 0-4 on the road.

Three Stars

C Brook Lopez, Nets — Lopez had a strong game going up against rising superstar Karl-Anthony Towns. Lopez showed him that he should be in the discussion offensively, pouring in 26 points on 10-of-16 from the field. He knocked down another three three-pointers as well as Lopez is becoming a threat from beyond the arc. He added three rebounds, one assist, and three blocks.

F Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves — A lot of attention has been given to Towns, and rightfully so. But originally this was looked at as Wiggins’ team and he showed why tonight. He scored a game-high 36 points on 13-of-29 from the field, making 6-of-7 three-pointers but only 4-of-8 free throws. He also added eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

F Trevor Booker, Nets — Booker continues to get the job done next to Lopez in the starting lineup. He almost registered another double-double tonight, scoring 15 points with nine rebounds. He added one assist, three steals, and one block, registering a +15 on the night.
