The New York Jets have officially hit the midpoint of their season. They have played half of their games, compiling a 3-5 record. Things got off to a rocky start as they lost five of their first six games. It is a big hole to come out of, but the Jets are trying their best to get out of it.

They head into game nine on a modest two-game winning streak. They have an important game against the Miami Dolphins this season, who are also coming in on a two-game winning streak. This is a game that could end the season for one team, as it looks like it will take at least nine, if not 10, games to qualify for the postseason this year.

The Jets are trying to figure things out, but there is a lot to figure out. This is a far cry from the team that came within one game of the postseason last year and it shows. They have struggled in multiple facets of the game, putting them in the hole they are attempting to get out of.

It hasn’t been a pretty first half of the season for the Jets. They are battling a lot of injuries to key players and ineffectiveness from others. It has resulted in some poor results from a lot of areas on the field that are tough to overcome.

While there are some bright spots, the negatives clearly outweigh the positives. Check out our midseason grades for the Jets position by position.
