The New York Knicks got some preseason revenge on the Boston Cetlics, blowing them out Wednesday night.

96. 18. 121. 27. Final

The New York Knicks picked up their third win of the preseason Wednesday night, defeating the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. It was a solid bounce back for the Knicks, who had lost to the Celtics over the weekend at Madison Square Garden, 119-107.

It was a solid team effort for the Knicks, as they had six players score in double figures. Everyone got a chance to play tonight, as the Knicks used all of the players available to them; Carmelo Anthony sat for a rest day, while Derrick Rose was still away from the team after winning his civil suit.

With two projected starters not playing tonight, there was more opportunity for other players to step up. There will be tough decisions for the Knicks front office to make in regards to the final roster spots, and tonight’s performance won’t make it any easier. Fringe roster players such as Ron Baker, Marshall Plumlee, Maurice Ndour, and J.P Tokoto all had strong games.

More from New York Knicks

The Knicks offense clicked all evening, as they shot 48.9 percent from the field overall. On the contrary, they held the Celtics to 41.7 percent shooting. The Knicks were able to get easier looks all night, as they outscored the Celtics 21-7 in fast break points and 54-44 in the paint.

The Knicks also won the rebounding and turnover battle. They outrebounded the Celtics 50-41 and turned the ball over only 13 times, while forcing 23 Celtics’ turnovers. It was a strong game as a whole for the Knicks, as they looked good on both ends of the court, which was encouraging because the Celtics’ projected starting five did not suit up tonight.

Three Starts

F Kristaps Porzingis, Knicks — Porzingis led the way tonight for the Knicks with Anthony sidelined. He scored a game-high 20 points, making 7-of-13 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line. He also added three rebounds, one assist, two steals, and three blocks as his strong preseason continued.

G Sasha Vujacic, Knicks — Vujacic was a spark plug for the Knicks off the bench. Vujacic scored 12 points with four assists in only 18 minutes. He is someone the Knicks like because he is knowledgeable in the triangle offense and is a favorite of Phil Jackson. Providing production such as he did tonight doesn’t hurt either.

C Kyle O’Quinn, Knicks — O’Quinn is in a dog fight for minutes. He is battling with rookies Willy Hernangomez and Marshall Plumlee, and looked to be falling behind. He responded with a big game when he needed it most, as he scored 13 points with eight rebounds in 17 minutes. This is a good problem to have, as the Knicks have good depth behind the injury plagued Joakim Noah.
