Eli Manning moved up the all-time touchdown list during the New York Giants victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Eli Manning, like the rest of his New York Giants teammates, has had a rough start to the 2016 season. The Giants entered their game against the Baltimore Ravens on a three-game losing streak after winning their first two games of the season.

At the center of the struggles was Manning himself. He made a number of mistakes against the Washington Redskins to start the losing streak and did very little to help end it the following two weeks. Manning was very inaccurate against the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers, unable to lead his team to much success.

Manning missed a number of throws against the Packers, constantly throwing behind or over receivers. The one that many people will remember was to Will Tye, which almost assuredly would have led to a Giants touchdown.

But, Manning missed that throw and the Giants missed out on an opportunity to beat a solid Packers team. With another loss against a winning team, people began whispering that Manning was indeed the problem for the Giants. The numbers, at least partially, would say the same.

That is what made the game against the Ravens an important one. The Giants needed Manning to play well to stop the losing streak and get things on track, and that is what he did.

Manning threw two interceptions, but one was at the end of the first half and the other came on a questionable non-call from the referees. Besides the two interceptions, Manning completed 32-of-46 passes for 403 yards and three touchdowns. With those touchdowns, Manning climbed the all-time touchdowns thrown list. He has surpassed John Elway for seventh place on the list.

The Giants offensive line finally gave Manning some time to work with. The Ravens managed only one sack and two hits on Manning, a huge improvement over the past two weeks for the Giants. Odell Beckham Jr. helped make Manning look good, as he had a monster game.

Beckham Jr. was forced out of the game in the first half with a hip pointer but returned with a vengeance. He finished with eight receptions for 222 yards and two touchdowns to help get the Giants a win.

While Manning was moving up the All-Time list, the Giants organization as a whole reached an impressive plateau with the victory. The win was Manning’s 100th of his career, but it was also the 700th victory in the history of the franchise, including the postseason.
