The New York Jets found out just how strong the Pittsburgh Steelers are as they left Heinz Field with yet another loss.

55. 13. 30. Final. 31

It was another rough week for the New York Jets. They went into Heinz Field and found out just how strong the Pittsburgh Steelers are, getting beat handily throughout the afternoon.

The Jets put up a strong fight in the first half, but their struggles in the second half continued. The Jets actually had a strong first half, scoring on three of their four drives. They were winning 13-7 but saw that lead and all of their momentum disappear before halftime as the Steelers scored a touchdown.

The Steelers could carry that momentum throughout the second half, as they crushed the Jets in the final two quarters. The Steelers would end the game with 24 consecutive points scored as the Jets had no answers for Ben Roethlisberger and company.

It was a loss in more ways than one for the Jets, as they also lost center Nick Mangold to an injury, He joins Eric Decker, Darrelle Revis and Brian Winters on the sideline, who all missed the game. None of those players would have helped the Jets pass rush, though, as they barely touched Roethlisberger all afternoon.

More from New York Jets

Roethlisberger was able to pick the Jets short-handed secondary apart with ease, resulting in a blowout victory. A small victory for the Jets was the fact that Ryan Fitzpatrick didn’t turn the ball over today. It was even more impressive given the beating that Fitzpatrick took throughout the afternoon; he was sacked three times and hit another 10. On the flip side, Roethlisberger was sacked only once and hit only once.

Three Stars

QB Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers — Roethlisberger did whatever he wanted against the Jets this afternoon. He finished the game completing 34-of-47 passes for 380 yards and four touchdowns. He completed 15 consecutive passes in the second half, as the Jets had no answer.

WR Sammie Coates, Steelers — Coates started the game off with a bang. On the Steelers’ third play of the game, Coates reeled in a 72-yard touchdown to get things going. He battled some drops in the afternoon, but still finished with six receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns; easily the best game of his young career.

WR Brandon Marshall, Jets — Without Eric Decker, the Jets are relying even more on Marshall. He stepped up against the Steelers and was the only player to really provide much production. He finished the game with eight receptions in 15 targets for 114 yards and one touchdown.
