The New York Jets will be kicking off their 2016 with a home game against the Cincinnati Bengals. On the 15th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, it will surely be an emotional game at MetLife Stadium.

After a disappointing end to the 2015 season, the Jets will be focused on making the playoffs in 2016. In addition to the home opener, the Bengals are also competition in the AFC. Due to the New England Patriots once again being favored to win the division, winning games against conference opponents will be important for the Wild Card.

Cincinnati will surely be in the playoff hunt so the Jets could gain a valuable win to start the season. One of the criticisms of the Jets in 2015 was that they had a very weak schedule. That will not be the case this season.

There will be a few keys to the game, and certainly some players that will be closely watched on the Jets. The quarterback position will be closely watched by Jets fans, as everyone wants to see if Ryan Fitzpatrick can live up to what he did last year.

The Bengals’ defense will surely make it tough on Fitzpatrick to have success, but he has some good weapons around him. After betting on himself in the offseason, Fitzpatrick has a lot to play for in Week 1 and during the entire season.
