The NBA Draft and free agency passed and several teams flipped their rosters to chase a championship for the 2016-17 season. Where do the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets stand among all 32 teams in the preseason power rankings?

Knicks’ team president Phil Jackson worked the phones to land point guard Derrick Rose, shooting guard Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick in exchange for point guards Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant and center Robin Lopez.

With one move, Jackson made basketball games at Madison Square Garden an event, which should attract celebrities and fans who opted to stay home during the rough seasons.

The Knicks’ Big Three featuring forwards Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis and Rose certainly filled fans with new hope for a deep playoff run.

The Nets sit on the opposite side of the spectrum. General manager Sean Marks comes to Brooklyn after serving three years as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs. Head coach Kenny Atkinson will attempt to help the team rebuild after coaching the Dominican Republic basketball team.

Marks wiped the slate clean for Atkinson. The front office traded forward Thaddeus Young for the No. 20 overall draft pick, which became Caris LeVert. Guard Jeremy Lin signed a three-year deal and hopes to write a new chapter in New York with a Nets uniform. The most familiar face on the roster, veteran center Brook Lopez, enters his ninth season with the team.

After the offseason roster turnover, where do the New York teams rank? The top six spots are reserved for each division winner.
