New York Yankees Rumors: Check out the latest trade rumor updates for Carlos Beltran and Aroldis Chapman.

New York Yankees rumors will persist throughout the MLB Trade Deadline as the Bronx Bombers look like they will be sellers for the first time in more than two decades. They have a number of veteran players that could help contending teams if they elect to move them, with Carlos Beltran and Aroldis Chapman being at the top of that list.

The Yankees have yet to reveal their intentions at the trade deadline, but all signs are pointing towards them being sellers. They were under the .500 mark for the first time after the All-Star break since 1995 with Friday night’s loss to the Boston Red Sox, and moved even further under the .500 mark after Saturday afternoon’s loss.

As a result, it seems that the Yankees may be moving closer to a decision potentially. According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports and MLB Network, the Yankees will be trading both Beltran and Chapman, who are impending free agents, if things do not turn around soon.

Things have yet to take a turn, and with only two weeks until the MLB Trade Deadline, the Yankees are running out of time to turn things around. Things will not get easier for them, as their homestand only gets more difficult as they host the Baltimore Orioles and San Francisco Giants after the Red Sox leave town.

Following that homestand, the Yankees head on the road to face the surging Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays. By that time the Yankees could look a little different, as they should be sellers by that time.

There has been a lot of discussion revolving Beltran and Chapman, as their impending free agency makes them logical trade pieces for the Yankees. They could push playoff contenders to another level as both are having strong seasons.

The 39-year old Beltran has been the Yankees most consistent hitter this season, and was named to the All-Star team for the ninth time in his career. He is currently sporting a slash line of .294/.332/.539 with a team leading 19 home runs and 58 RBI.

Beltran has a no-trade clause in his contract, but there are a number of teams not on that list that could use his services. One of those teams is the Cleveland Indians, who are looking to make the postseason for the first time since 2013. The Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago White Sox are also potential suitors for Beltran, as both could use some help in the corner outfield spots and designated hitter.

The Indians are also rumored to be interested in adding a power lefty to their bullen; a description Chapman would fall under. Buster Olney reported that the Indians could be a landing spot for Chapman, along with Andrew Miller, on his Twitter account.

On the season, Chapman has 17 saves with a 2.39 ERA and 0.91 WHIP. Teams can never get enough bullpen help, and Chapman would be a huge upgrade for any team as he throws over 100 miles per hour consistently with a nasty slider from the left side.

The need for someone such as Chapman isn’t as big for the Yankees, as they are struggling to win games currently. What is the point of having a lights out closer if you can never get the ball in his hands with a lead? That is one of the reasons why Chapman should have a new residence within the next two weeks.
