It has been a tough first half of the season for the New York Yankees, as they have been stuck as a mediocre team for much of the first half of the season. After a dreadful start in the beginning of the season, the Yankees were able to claw their way back to .500 at the All-Star break.

Even though the Yankees are sitting at .500, they are 7.5 games behind the first-place Baltimore Orioles in the AL East. In addition to looking up in the standings at the Orioles, the Yankees are also behind the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. While a playoff spot isn’t out of reach for the Yankees, much of the talk this season has been about when the team will be sellers.

There have been a few surprise stars for the Yankees this season, but there have been more disappointing players so far this season. If the Yankees do decide to be sellers at the trade deadline, they have a few very attractive pieces that they can move for some young talent. The Yankees certainly don’t have the reputation of being sellers at the trade deadline, but this could be the year that we see a fire sale in the Bronx.

With a lot of uncertainty surrounding players after the trade deadline, here are the award winners for the Yankees in the first half of the season.
