Noah Syndergaard put on a show at the plate and on the mound Wednesday night, leading the Mets to a 4-3 victory on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Noah Syndergaard has been outstanding for the New York Mets this season. The young flame thrower has continued his success on the mound that he started last season as a rookie despite coming into Wednesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 2-2 record.

That record would improve to 3-2 once it was all said and done, as Syndergaard did everything in getting the Mets a victory and guaranteeing at least a split of the four game series against the Dodgers.

Syndergaard was not as dominant as we have seen him in the past in terms of strikeouts, as he only racked up six on the evening. The Dodgers weren’t able to get many base runners against him though, as Syndergaard walked only one with six hits allowed in eight innings. Unfortunately for him, the Dodgers made the most of those hits.

Two of those six hits were home runs for the Dodgers, and they accounted for all the runs they would score off Syndergaard. Corey Seager got to him first in the third inning, hitting his third home run of the season. Syndergaard would get touched up again an inning later, this time by Yasmani Grandal, who hit his second home run of the season.

Syndergaard would get retribution and make up for the home runs he gave up while he was at the plate. He got the scoring started in the top of the third inning, as he launched a home run of his own into right center field to give the Mets the 1-0 lead.

Syndergaard was only getting started at the plate, as he would get to Kenta Maeda when he came to the plate again in the fifth inning. With men on first and second, Syndergaard was at the plate attempting to lay down a sacrifice. After taking a couple of pitches, the sacrifice was called off and Syndergaard was allowed to swing.

That turned out to be a great idea, as Syndergaard struck again with yet another home run, this time to the opposite field and of the three-run variety.

"Just call him Noah Synder"

Both home runs tonight traveled over 400 feet, giving him three career home runs with all three going at least that far. He is also the first pitcher with two home runs in a game since 2007 when Micah Owings did it with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Syndergaard accounted for all of the Mets offense tonight, knocking in all four of their runs and holding the Dodgers at bay while he was on the mound. It was a magnificent night for Syndergaard as the Mets will look to take the four-game series from the Dodgers tomorrow night when Bartolo Colon will take the mound against Clayton Kershaw.
