The Brooklyn Nets finally got to see 2015 first round pick Chris McCullough make his debut Monday night, as they picked up the victory over the Denver Nuggets.

The Brooklyn Nets are essentially just playing out the stretch of the season, as they have a 14-39 record, sitting 13 games out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. But, better times could be on the way for the Nets. They are beginning the process to find a new general manager to replace the reassigned Billy King, which could result in some big changes to the roster.

One player on the roster that will not be going anywhere is Chris McCullough. McCullough, who was the 29th overall pick by the Nets in the 2015 NBA Draft, was looked at as a lottery talent but tore his ACL at Syracuse last season. That caused his stock to drop, as a long rehab process was on the horizon. But, that long rehab process has finally come to an end, as McCullough made his much anticipated debut against the Denver Nuggets last night.

McCullough entered the game early in the second quarter against the Nuggets, officially making his NBA and Brooklyn Nets debut. Promptly, McCullough came down the court and knocked down a 20-foot jumper, nailing his first shot as an NBA player.

McCullough would finish his debut with 11 minutes played, finishing with those two points, two rebounds, one steal and one block as he showcased some of the athleticism and versatility that had scouts raving about him prior to his knee injury.

Those two points may not be a big deal to some, but for McCullough it was the end of a long journey that delayed his NBA career by multiple months. It also helped the Nets get the victory, as they pulled out the win over the Nuggets Monday night 105-104.

Joe Johnson provided the heroics for the Nets, as he sunk a three-pointer at the buzzer to get the team their 14th victory of the season. He finished the game with 12 points, eight assists, three rebounds and two steals. In addition to the buzzer-beating highlight, Johnson has had an ankle breaker that will be played on highlight reels as well.

"Joe Johnson drops Nurkic."

That is just the latest in clutch moments for Johnson, as he leads the NBA in buzzer-beating shots in the last 10 seasons with seven. If the game is on the line in the waning seconds, there aren’t any players as cold blooded as Johnson is.
