The New York Knicks were able to get back in the win column and snap their four-game losing streak Wednesday night, avoiding some embarrassment and defeating the lowly Philadelphia 76ers 99-87. It was a solid bounce back win for the Knicks, who had been struggling of late but took full advantage of a short-handed 76ers squad to cruise to victory.

The Knicks were able to take control of the game in the early going and never really looked back after that. It was a wire-to-wire victory for the Knicks, as they never trailed in the game and 2-2 was the closest the 76ers would get to doing so. The Knicks were ahead by as many as 23 in the game, as they put the 76ers away early and never looked back.

It was almost tough to watch at times, as the 76ers are as bad as advertised. They were able to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers for their first win of the season last night, but this is a team void of much talent. It is easy to feel bad for any fan of the team, as they do not even try putting a winning product on the court; the front office should be embarrassed with what they have done with the roster. It is nice to see young players get a chance to play, but eventually you have to try winning games and the 76ers just do not seem interested in doing that right now.

The Knicks will take advantage of their demise though, as it is easy wins and wins the Knicks should continue collecting on. This was the first of four meetings between the two teams this season, as the Knicks, despite coming off the worst season in franchise history, look light years ahead of the 76ers at this time.

Despite the lopsided affair, there is still plenty of things the Knicks need to work on after this game. It was a sloppy game overall, having a preseason feel for some of it as the 76ers play a ton of youngsters and the Knicks are still trying to figure things out with their rotation.

Regardless, they made it look easy tonight in blowing out the 76ers. They are back in the win column and their record is now 9-10 on the season. They will look to get to .500 on Friday when they face off with the Brooklyn Nets for the first time this season.

Before we get to that game though, let’s take a look at some of the takeaways from the Knicks victory over the 76ers on Wednesday night.
