What a year makes for the New York Knicks. Last season when they visited the Oklahoma City Thunder, they were blown out of the water by 28 points. This time around, the Knicks were able to hold on to the victory, defeating the Thunder 93-90.

It was another hard fought game for the Knicks, who made things more difficult on themselves than they needed to be as they struggled once again down the stretch. But, once again, their defense saved them as the offense sputtered and the Knicks were able to pull out another impressive victory on the road.

With the victory, the Knicks now are 7-6 on the season and 4-2 on the road. The improvement on the road has been unbelievable for the Knicks, as they won only seven games on the road, two of which came on their last road games of the season.

For the Thunder, their record falls to 7-6 overall and 5-3 at home. Without Kevin Durant in the lineup, the Thunder are now under .500, as they are 2-3 in games that he hasn’t appeared in this season.

This was a great start to an important road trip for the Knicks, as they took advantage of a shorthanded Thunder team and turned it into a victory. It was a win they could have made a lot easier on themselves, but at the end of the day a win is a win as they brought the effort when they needed it most and were able to pull it out despite their late game struggles.

The Knicks will continue their road trip tomorrow night on the second night of a back-to-back as they will travel to take on the Houston Rockets. Before we get to breaking down that one, let’s take a deeper look into tonight’s game.
