The Jets’ victory against the Dolphins was a very important one in the AFC East picture. The New England Patriots were on a bye week, but they are still the cream of the crop at 3-0. The Buffalo Bills have looked impressive this season, but in Week 4 they were handled rather easily by the New York Giants, who helped the Jets out in Week 4.

With the win against the Dolphins, the Jets have dealt their division rival a crushing blow to their hopes of being relevant in the AFC this season, as they have fallen to 1-3.

The Jets could very well be undefeated after four weeks, as their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at home was a frustrating one. The absence of Chris Ivory and Eric Decker in Week 3 against the Eagles proved to be very costly.

With Ivory back in the starting lineup in Week 4, the Jets once again looked like a team that can make some noise this season. On the big stage in London to kick off the International Series, Ivory totaled a career-high 166 rushing yards to go along with a rushing touchdown.

The performance by Ivory brought some serious praise from his teammates who believe that he is one of the best running backs in the league.

“Chris is an awesome running back,” outside linebacker Calvin Pace said to Dom Cosentino of NJ.com. “I would love for him to get the national attention that he deserves.”

“I feel like I’m playing a video game when I’m watching him,” said right guard Brian Winters to Cosentino.

“He was a workhorse,” Bowles said to Cosentino. “He made some tough runs. He was getting hit, and he was doing some hitting.”

“His style his awesome—you know I love it, you know what I mean?” Giacomini said to Cosentino. “It’s great to have him back.”

“Man, first of all, I’ve got to do a better job blocking. I’ve been horrible, and part of the reason is because I’ve been a fan watching him,” Marshall said to Cosentino. “His game speed is unbelievable. He runs the ball violently. The guy’s a stud. He’s a stud. Like I said from preseason, he makes everything go for us.”

There is no denying that when Ivory is on the field that the Jets are a much better team but in order to be an elite player he will have to continue to produce like he has so far in 2015. Coming into the season, Ivory wanted to take the next step as a running and so far he has done that.

The bye week does come at a good time for the Jets who can use the week to make sure Ivory is 100% healthy as they will attempt to dethrone the Patriots.
