Dellin Betances and Mark Teixeira will be representing the Yankees in Cincinnati, as they were two of the reserves named.

For Betances, this is his second All-Star Game in as many years.

“It just means the players recognize the good things you’re doing in the game. It means a lot to be voted in,’’ Betances told The New York Post Monday at Hanks’ Yanks charity golf outing before the teams were announced. “All you can do is work harder and hopefully it pays dividends. It’s great. Any time you get the chance to be in the All-Star Game, it’s a wonderful feeling. Last year I had a great experience.”

Last season, Betances made the All-Star team as a setup man to Mariano Rivera, but this season has been a little different for Betances. In the beginning of the season, Betances was once again the setup man to Andrew Miller, but an injury to Miller forced Betances into the closer’s role. Betances hasn’t missed a beat as the closer for the Yankees, as he is has seven saves.

“I felt good [in closer’s role]. I’m just trying to do the same thing I was doing before [Andrew Miller] got hurt. I can’t wait for him to get back. It should be shortly. It helps the whole team out and it makes us better,’’ Betances said to the New York Post.

For the third time in his career, Teixeira will be heading to the All-Star Game at first base. Teixeira has been healthy this season, and that has resulted in the Yankees having a powerful force in the middle of their order. This season, Teixeira has 20 homeruns with 59 RBIs, which leads the American League.

Betances and Teixeira are the two Yankees that are guaranteed to make it, but they may be joined by outfielder Brett Gardner, who is in the final vote. Gardner will need all the votes he can get, as he will be battling for the final spot with Xander Bogaerts, Yoenis Cespedes, Mike Moustakas and Brian Dozier. Gardner is certainly deserving of being an All-Star, as he is batting .297 with nine homeruns, 39 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases.

The Yankees did have two notable players to be left off the team, as Brian McCann and Alex Rodriguez both didn’t make it.
