Marc Stein from ESPN reports that New York Knicks president Phil Jackson has been working to deal Wayne Ellington but has been unsuccessful.

To try and make the deal happen the Knicks front office has included Pablo Prigioni on the deal.

But WHY??? Don’t the Knicks like Prigioni ? I love Prigi Smalls!

Ok, I can live with that.

But in all seriousness, it’s a good deal to be made. The Knicks are still kind of guard heavy, and Shane Larkin could very well be the back-up for Jose Calderon. The kid – a 2013 NBA Draft first rounder –  showed a lot of energy and defensive effort during the Summer League and will be a good asset for years to come. What are they looking for, though? More big men?

I’m betting it’s a stretch four. Despite having a lot of big men now, the Knicks only have Melo and Early as true SFs.

I guess we will see.
