If you haven’t had the chance to catch up with this week’s New York Giants news, here are some links you might find interesting. The training camp opens Monday and we will be covering the roster battles and everything relevant to the big blue.
You have probably seen this, but Eli Manning addressed the new offense and what they need to focus during the training camp. He mentions the Green Bay Packers and the importance of reading the offense and adapting on the go. While you are there, make sure to watch offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo‘s and LB Jameel McClain‘s interviews as well.
Tom Coughlin was named one of the top 25 coaches in all sports. From what he did with the Jaguars from 95-2002 you could see where this was going. The guy is good and will hopefully bring more rings for the Giants.
John Jerry is expected to show his strengh during the camp, and Adam Ganeles from Fansided.com has a good sum up of the story for you guys.
For those loving this off-season’s Giants spending spree, don’t get too comfortable. John Mara, co-owner of the franchise said this won’t be a recurrent thing. The NY Daily News talked to the executive and you can find what he has to say here.
As I mentioned before, the training camp starts Monday and there is a lot, I mean a lot, for the team to figure out before the pre-season games to kick off 2014 with a consistent and competitive performance. A bunch of open spots on the roster, injuries, the new offense and the Field General’s ability to bounce back and put the team back on the map. Eli has a big chip on his shoulder from last season, so we can only hope he will be able to prove once again he deserves the last name his father and brother have been carrying so well.
