When searching through the NFL action sites, loyal New York Jets fan Jack Henderickson found a jersey that is a symbol of a nightmare for New York Jets fans. That’s right, Jack found the game worn Mark Sanchez jersey on that cold Thanksgiving night where Sanchez made the worst play in NFL History and gave every Jets fan a living nightmare. I give Jack Henderickson lots of credit here because if I saw this jersey I would have said “Why the heck would I want to buy that jersey.” Instead Henderickson bought the jersey at a price of $820 and when asked by Yahoo Sports! Why he bought it he gave a very good reasoning:
“The second I realized what it was I knew I had to have it,” Hendrickson said. “Almost for macabre reasons; the amount of ridicule I have received from friends regarding that play and me being a diehard Jets fan out in California especially. There’s no way I could let it get in the hands of an anti-fan or something of that manner to be shoved in our face.”
Hey I give this guy major credit, he has a very good reason for buying this horrible jersey. When asked what he will do with the jersey, Jack also told Yahoo Sports
“For now I’ll probably just frame it up real nice and put it on my wall,” Hendrickson said. “Until we win a Super Bowl or I can get together enough money to put it on a rocket ship and shoot it to outer space because I don’t think it belongs on this planet anymore.”
If Jack starts a Kickstarter project for this, I will most definitely donate. As a big time Jets fan this game haunted me for months. I still think that Woody Johnson should have refunded everyone who bought tickets to that game because that was just embarrassing. I bet every Jets fan would be happy to help Hendrickson in getting rid of this jersey once and for all.
