Mc's Pick 3/23 - 3-29: New York Knicks vs. Phoenix Suns

Who Where and When: New York Knicks vs Phoenix Suns. US Airways Center, Phoenix, Arizona. 10 pm.

On Friday night the Knicks will continue this week’s pivotal Western Conference road trip with a clash with the Phoenix Suns. Although all of their match ups are against West opponents this week every one of them will be huge if the Knicks want to have any chance to make the playoffs this season, especially after they failed to lock down a victory against a Cleveland Cavaliers team that was missing its best player, Kyrie Irving.

The Knicks will play the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings also this week but the selection of the clash with the Suns is an easy pick because the Kings and Lakers have a combined 48-91 record on the year and are currently 13th and 14th in the West and are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention already. The Suns, however, are ninth in the West with a 41-29 record, only half a game behind the eighth place Dallas Mavericks, knocking on the door for the last playoff spot.

This game will be hugely important to both clubs, which should make for a very fun game to watch. The games against the lesser Western foes will be equally important in terms of keeping the pressure on the Atlanta Hawks, who currently hold the East final playoff spot, but a win against the Kings or Lakers should bea  foregone conclusion if you want to be taken seriously in the playoff chase. A win against a team that is competing for the post season out West would be far more impressive.
