Mc's Pick 1/5-1/11: NY Basketball Heats Up

This week’s “Mc’s Pick” is a two-fer. The Miami Heat come up to the Big Apple to match-up with both New York teams on consecutive nights. The Heat will be at Madison Square Garden on Thursday January 9th to take on the Knicks, and the following night they will be taking on the Nets at the Barclays Center.

To me, LeBron James and company are can’t miss television. LeBron is easily the most dynamic player of his generation. Whether you hate his guts or not you can not deny the talent, and showmanship, he displays every time he touches the court. So far this year “King James” is averaging 27.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assist per game. Niether the Nets nor Knicks will likely put up much of a fight against the reigning MVP and the Southeast leading Heat, but it is without question the can’t miss New York sporting event of the week.

LeBron is only the leader of a star-studded cast from South Beach. As you know the Heat also boast a big name supporting cast lead by Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Ray Allen on their roster along with solid role players like Shane Battier, Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers, and, a personal favorite of mine, “Bird-Man” Chris Andersen. They may be in second place in the Eastern Conference right now, but until someone dethrones them when it matters I consider them the class of the NBA.

So tune in Thursday night at 8:00pm for Heat vs. Knicks and Friday at 8:00pm for Heat vs. Nets, it’ll be worth the time invested.
