Monday Links: 11.18

Every Monday, I’m going to start posting links to the best articles about our favorite city in sports from around the interwebs. Some Mondays there may be more links than others and sometimes there may be Tweets, videos and pictures mixed in.

While in this first post, I’m going to start small with one link from each team residing in the Empire State but I’d love to grow this into either a daily routine or a maybe a large weekly post with reader contributions, or perhaps both! Also, the posts will very likely be posted earlier in the day as they continue but I’m doing this one tonight because I’ve liked the idea for a while and only now am following through with it. Without any more useless explanation, I’ll get right into it with our first batch of NY sports links:

New York Mets: We all know Noah Syndergaard is supposed to be good, but is it possible his stats actually sell him short? MetsMerized thinks so.

New York Yankees: While talks with Robinson Cano are going nowhere, the Yankees have their eyes on another good-hitting infielder.

New York Knicks: The Knicks are struggling in the early stages of the season but Tom Ziller from SB Nation breaks down why we shouldn’t be surprised.

Brooklyn Nets: NBA.com does a great job previewing tonight’s matchup with the Portland Trailblazers who are on a 6 game win streak.

New York Giants: After everything the Giants have been through, Dan Graziano believes Tom Coughlin could still be the best coach in the NFL.

New York Jets: The Jets are never without controversy it seems but this time its created, rather than reported, by the media, as reported by Deadspin.

New York Islanders: Is running into your “ex” at a hotel in another city a sign you should rekindle the flame? As Isles fans, let us hope not.

New York Rangers: There are some things the Rangers need to switch up, now that Rick Nash is rejoining the lineup.

Madison Square Garden: This week, the 2k Sports Classic is take place at the Garden with Indiana, Washington, Boston College, and Uconn facing off Thursday and Friday night.  The Huskies look good this year, led by Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright, so make sure to grab some Uconn basketball tickets for this week’s tourney!

I’ll throw in one more for good measure in the form of a tweet. If being a Mets fan wasn’t disappointing enough, try to grasp the fact we almost had this guy:

Of course, I want this post to grow from here so if you felt I left anything out or just want to discuss the links, go ahead and leave me a comment. I’d also love to have some reader contributions in these posts in the future so if you have any links you think are worthy or anything you’d like to hear my opinion on, then go follow me on Twitter or feel free to email me at [email protected]

Happy Monday y’all.
