Iman Shumpert may return to Knicks lineup tonight

According to the New York Knicks, Iman Shumpert who sprained his right elbow on Thursday against the Washington Wizards, may return to the floor tonight as the Knicks face off against the Milwaukee Bucks in the team’s sixth preseason contest.

The news comes as a huge relief to Knicks fans who have been collectively holding their breath since Shumpert exited the Knicks’ preseason game against the Washington Wizards last Thursday and did not return.

Shumpert’s return to the lineup tonight is far from certain, although the positive news on his status certainly makes it seem like the talented third year guard will be able to rejoin the Knicks for their final preseason game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday at the latest.

If the Knicks are going to silence their doubters this year, they will need a healthy Shumpert in their lineup to keep opposing guards out of the paint. ┬áLet’s just hope that Shump can avoid any other close calls as the Knicks approach their season opener a week from today against the Milwaukee Bucks.
