They may not be playing their first regular season game at the Barclays center until 2015, but that didn’t stop the Islanders from getting cozy in their soon-to-be new home on Wednesday.
The entire Islanders team toured the Barclay’s Center on Wednesday, and even took to the ice to get a taste of what life will be like in their future home.
“It feels really new,” said John Tavares, “In a couple of years, it’ll be a nice home.”
Although we may be years away from the Islanders officially calling Brooklyn home, the Isles will take the ice for the first time at the Barclay’s center on Saturday, September 21st, in a preseason contest against the New Jersey Devils. The event will mark the first time an NHL game has ever been played in Brooklyn.
