NY Giants Linebacker Dan Connor Out for season

Just when Giants fans thought an already makeshift linebacking corp could not get any worse. It has.

The New York Giants announced Thursday that MLB Dan Connor would be placed on season ending IR after sustaining a “burner” in his neck against the Dallas Cowboys during the third quarter of the season opener on Sunday night.

The news comes just days after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones questioned whether or not the Giants were faking injuries to slow down the pace of the Cowboys no-huddle offense.

The NFL ruled on Tuesday that no penalties would be issued to the Giants.

With Connor out of the picture, an already weak linebacking corp is starting to look a lot more dismal.  Mark Herzlich is now the team’s sole middle linebacker, unless the Giants can get Allen Bradford up to speed in a hurry—whom the team claimed off waivers on Thursday after learning of Connor’s season ending injury.

Feel free to insert your foot into your mouth now, Mr. Jones.
