Guess what, New York Giants fans: you will be getting a familiar face back in the roster. It was reported by Dan Graziano of ESPN New York that running back Brandon Jacobs will be rejoining Big Blue, after the back tried out for the team on Tuesday.
The Giants, who are very thin at the running back position, signed the 31 year-old running back to a one-year deal according to inside sources. The Giants also tried out Willis McGahee, but Jacobs edged him out due to his familiarity with the offense and with the personnel.
After this weekend’s disaster in the backfield, and Andre Brown’s injury this offseason, Jacobs gives the team some assurance. The big back can fill in for the role that Andre Brown was supposed to play as a pass blocker and short-yard back.
