Key Dates on the Knicks & Nets 2013-14 Schedules

With the NBA releasing the schedule for the 2013-14 season last night there are a few intriguing dates that local NBA fans may want to mark down on there calendars.  Here is a complete breakdown of all the can’t miss action this season from the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.

October 30th – Knicks Season Opener: The Knicks open the season at home against Milwaukee on Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. The Bucks, who were the Eastern Conferences eighth seed last season find themselves in full rebuilding mode after losing Monta Ellis, Brandon Jennings, Mike Dunleavy and J.J. Redick during free agency. The Knicks went 3-0 against Milwaukee last season.

October 30th – Nets Season Opener: The Nets will open their 2013-14 season on the road against Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers Oct. 30. Besides checking out the new look Nets, fans will have a chance to see number 1 pick, Anthony Bennett make his NBA debut.

November 1st – Nets Home Opener: The Nets will unveil their new look team to their home fans on Nov. 1st against Lebron James and the Miami Heat.

November 20th – Revenge for the Knicks: The Knicks will get their first shot at revenge when they face the Indiana Pacers at home on Nov. 20th.

December 5th – Knicks vs Nets Game 1: The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets will square off for the first time of the 2013-14 NBA season on Dec. 5th at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.

December 25th – Knicks Christmas Day Game: Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder will face off against Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks in a Christmas day matchup of two of the leagues most lethal scorers.

December 25th – Nets Christmas Day Game: Both local teams will be on the court on Christmas day as the Brooklyn Nets face off against the team that sent them packing last postseason, the Chicago Bulls.

December 28th – Toronto Fans Booing Bargnani: Andrea Bargnani will make his return to Toronto for the first time.  After being selected first overall by the Raptors, Bargnani struggled to live up to the hype in Toronto where he fell out of favor with fans.

January 9th – Knicks vs Heat: The Knicks will have their first crack at the champs when Miami comes to the Garden on Jan. 9th

January 16th – Nets in London: The Nets will play the Atlanta Hawks at London’s O2 Arena on Jan. 16th.

January 20th – Knicks vs Nets Game 2 (MLK Day Game): The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets will play their second game of the 2013-14 NBA season on Jan. 20th during a matinee at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

January 26th – KG & Pierce Return to Boston: Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce will make their anticipated return to Boston on Jan. 26th.

January 31st – Nets Superbowl Weekend Game: The Nets will welcome Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Barclay’s Center two days before Super Bowl XLVIII at Met Life Stadium.

February 1st – Knicks Superbowl Eve Game: Melo and the Knicks host the Miami Heat in Madison Square Garden on the night before the Super Bowl at Met Life Stadium.

April 1st – Dwight Howard in Brooklyn:  After years of waffling on where he wanted to play, Dwight Howard will play his first ever game in Brooklyn as the Nets host the Rockets on April 1st.

April 2nd – Knicks vs Nets Game 3: The Knicks will host the Nets at Madison Square Garden on April 2nd for the teams third matchup of the regular season.

April 15th – Knicks vs Nets Game 4: The Knicks and Nets will face each other for the fourth and final time of the regular season on April 15th in Brooklyn.
