NY Giants safety suspended 4 games for drug violation

The New York Giants’ already weak secondary situation just received some bad news. It was reported by Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN that Giants safety Will Hill will be suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s drug policy. Hill can participate in training camp and can play in preseason games, but once the season starts, he must sit out the first four games.

Hill, a talented but troubled safety, had a similar issue last season when he was suspended last October for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Hill has shown he has a lot of potential. The safety won a National Championship and was outstanding in college with the Florida Gators, but it seems he can’t stop running into trouble.

The Giants took a chance on him in the 2011 NFL draft when no one wanted to take a chance on him, but it hasn’t paid dividends yet. Hill has made his presence felt on special teams, but his troubles may be too much for the Giants organization to keep him around.
