New York Yankees work horse CC Sabathia will have another chance at securing his 200th career victory tonight as the Yankees face off against the Twins in Minnesota.
In his first attempt at win number 200, Sabathia took a no-hitter and a 3-0 lead into the sixth inning last Friday at Baltimore before unraveling in the seventh inning. Sabathia has had a lot of success against the Twins throughout his career, going 8-0 with a 1.79 ERA in his last nine matchups with Minnesota.
P.J. Walters will take the mound for the Twins, looking to pick up his third win of the 2013 season. Walters, who has struggled as of late, is 2-4 with a 6.03 ERA in seven starts this season. The young right-hander has struggled to get through opposing lineups, losing each of his last three starts while allowing 16 runs, 16 hits and nine walks in nine innings.
In addition to Sabathia’s career milestone the Yankees are looking to pick up their third win in a row tonight, as they try to get their season back on track.
