There is finally some good news on the injury front from the New York Yankees.
After taking part in extended spring training games in Tampa on Tuesday, Yankee infielders Mark Teixieira and Kevin Youkilis are ready to begin minor league rehab assignments. Teixeira, the Yankees gold glove first baseman, has been sidelined since early March when he sustained an injury to his right wrist. Youkilis, who joined the team this year after a brief stint with the Chicago White Sox, has missed 29 games with a lumbar spine sprain.
Both Teixeira and Youkilis are reported to be leaving the Yankees minor league complex in Tampa and heading for Trenton, where they will partake in rehab game with the Yankees Double-A club, the Trenton Thunder.
