New York Jets First Round Picks

With the ninth pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected Dee Milliner, cornerback out of Alabama. Dee Milliner will be expected to fill in Revis’s shoes, and this is no easy task. As we all know, Jets’ fans are extremely critical of everything and it will be tough for Dee to succeed when so many Jets’ fans have fallen in love with Revis. As a matter of fact, seconds after Dee was drafted he was asked by a pesky reporter, “How does ‘Milliner Island’ sound?” Dee’s injuries are a huge concern but if he can work past this, look for Milliner to succeed in his New York career.

With the thirteenth pick of the NFL Draft, the Jets drafted Sheldon Richardson, DT from Missouri. For a defensive tackle, he has decent speed and his strength is incredible. They will look for him to replace Sione Pouha who the Jets had to let go in free agency. Although this pick may surprise many Jets’ fans, it is not as bad as it sounds. I have watched a lot of film of Richardson, and his block shedding is incredible. He may be that run stopper that the Jets have been looking for after quite some time. As I currently listen to my brother vent with rage over this pick, it is not at all a bad pick. Although he isn’t a household name, he may surprise you.
