Amar’e Stoudemire Out for 6 Weeks

Mar 4, 2013; Cleveland, OH, USA; New York Knicks power forward Amar

New York Knicks big man Amar’e Stoudemire continues to have knee problems. Stoudemire will be sidelined for approximately six weeks after undergoing a right knee procedure.

The big man has been dealing with knee issues for a while, so this can’t be a good sign. Before the surgery, Stoudemire was playing limited minutes, so just imagine what will happen when he comes back from surgery—STAT will be back around playoff time. Recently Stoudemire’s minute-cap was moved to 30 minutes and he gave the Knicks 20-plus point performances.

Stoudemire has been active on the post and the Knicks will definitely miss his production. The team not only needed Amar’e for now, to lock down the No. 2 seed, but for their playoff run as well.
