Chris Kreider Is Dominating the AHL

Chris Kreider added two more goals to his resume last night, giving him four goals in three games since being demoted. Amazingly three of his four goals have come on the powerplay.

Head coach Ken Gernander said that Kreider is coming along and finding his game.

Last night’s goals can be seen in the video below at 1:53 and 2:49.

It is great to see Kreider killing it for the Whale. He has certainly not let the demotion negatively affect his play and is producing at the best level he has all year.

Kreider’s main issue with the Rangers was his lack of aggression and for at least the time being he seems to have resolved that. To put it into perspective, Kreider has nearly as many goals (4) in three games with the Whale as shots (5) he has in 11 games with the Rangers.

If he continues to perform for the Whale I could see Kreider reprising his role with the Rangers just in time for the playoffs. Someone is bound to slump or get injured between now and then and Kreider should be near the top of the list of replacements.

A well performing Kreider definitely helps push the Rangers into the top half of teams in the Eastern Conference.
