Earlier today Steve Zipay reported that Chris Kreider has a bone chip in his ankle and is day-to-day.

Kevin DeLury of The New York Rangers Blog pointed out that Kreider took a puck off his foot earlier in the month while playing for the Whale.

If the injury did indeed occur earlier in the month it is a big game changer. Playing with an injury would justify his poor performance this season. Kreider’s game is speed and anything that affects his mobility is going to have a huge effect on his game.

With Kreider’s injury, Arron Asham returning. and Stu Bickel as a likely scratch the recently acquired Benn Ferriero¬†will take a spot on the fourth line.
