Knicks close to sign and trade deal with Suns for Nash

The Knicks want Steve Nash and he wants to go to New York, so now can the Knicks finally just get this deal done? Steve Nash has not accepted the Raptors offer of $36 Million and is waiting on the Knicks for the sign and trade deal to occur. The Suns are rumored to want Iman Shumpert if the deal is to be made. Sources close to both teams today said that the deal is close to being done but this writer wouldn’t guarantee anything with the NBA free agent market.

Remember when it was a done deal that Chris Paul was coming to Madison Square Garden? Just after the lockout ended the Knicks were very, very close to a deal for Chris Paul with the New Orleans Hornets. Well, we all know how that turned out so all I am saying is not to get your hopes up if you are a Knicks fan until the Nash deal is done.

Jeremy Lin met with the Houston Rockets today in Houston about a free agent deal that would team up Lin with Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic in the backcourt. The Knicks would have to match Houston’s offer if they want to keep the Harvard grad in the Big Apple, which could be a tough task for the cash-strapped Knickerbockers.
