Adam Warren's stay in the Bronx doesn't last long

Well, so much for Adam Warren filling in for CC Sabathia. The young right-hander’s cup of coffee in the big leagues lasted shorter than he can be an awe of making it there. He was demoted back to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre after last night’s poor outing. Right-hander DJ Mitchell was recalled to the majors and in the clubhouse this afternoon for today’s game. Warren hurled just 2 and 1/3 innings of work after falling into trouble in the 2nd and 3rd innings of a disastrous pitching game last night for the Bombers.

The Yankees are expected to start the young right-hander, David Phelps in Warren’s place on Wednesday. Joe Girardi said that he expects to get 80-85 pitches out of Phelps in the start. Freddy Garcia will fill-in for the injured Andy Pettitte on Monday night at Tampa Bay.
