Former New York Knicks forward Pat Cummings, who played with the team from 1984-1988 was found dead in his New York City apartment. He was 55 years old.
Cummings played in the NBA for 12 season with 5 teams at the forward and center position. He averaged his best mark in points per game during the 1984-85 season with the Knicks, averaging 15.8 PPG. He also averaged 15.7 PPG the next season playing along side the first pick in the inaugural draft lottery, Patrick Ewing.
Cummings also was a two-time All-Metro Conference selection at University of Cincinnati and averaged a .642 shooting percentage, which still stands today as a school record.
The cause of death was unknown but foul play was not suspected.
