Subway Series Part Two under Rain Delay

The second go-around between the Yankees and the Mets from Citi Field tonight has been under a rain delay since 7 P.M. ET. The first game of the 3-game nighttime set features Andy Pettitte on the hill for the Yanks and Jon Niese for the Amazin’s. We will have to see how that match-up turns out and if both pitchers are still out on the bump after the delay depending on its length.

The Yankees come into tonight’s game off of a mini two game losing streak against the Atlanta Braves after winning 10 straight games. They will play 3 games in Flushing before returning home to host the Cleveland Indians at the beginning of next week. Meanwhile, the Mets are fresh off of a 3 game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles after being swept by the Cincinnati Reds at home. They will host the Yankees for the weekend before heading out to Wrigley to face the Cubs at the start of a 7 game road trip spanning through Chicago and L.A.

Hopefully tonight’s game gets started in a flash and the series delivers the promise that has been anticipated.
