EWB’s Double Play (A Look At The Baseball Teams In NYS)

Finally the New York Yankees (1-3) have won a game this season, against the Baltimore Orioles (3-1), in the second series of the year for both AL East Division teams. The Bronx Bombers have played both their series so far on the road and both against divisional opponents. Last night the Yanks beat the Orioles 6-2 yesterday, with Nova getting the win in this one. Today the team will have Garcia (0-0) going up against Chen (0-0) and then Sabathia (0-0) vs Arrieta (1-0) in tomorrow’s third game of the series, with both games beginning at 7:05 p.m. EST.

My choice for this game is the Yankees winning the game in a match up that should score about 8 or 9 runs.

The undefeated New York Mets (4-0), yes that’s not a typo, are in their second series as well, this one against the Washington Nationals (2-2). After sweeping the Atlanta Braves in CitiField the NY franchise now hosts the Nationals, which they beat 4-0 last night. This was the first win of the season where the Amazings didn’t get their closer Frank Francisco (3 saves) didn’t get a save. The Mets will have another two games against the Nats, today with Gee (0-0) going against Detwiler (0-0) and tomorrow having Santana (0-0) vs Strasburgh (0-0).

In this one I see the Mets keeping their record intact and going 5 and 0 on the season. Not bad for a team that was almost buried by the media before the year began.
